Jamel, the owner, is really just the best guy around. Always helpful and reliable. Changed my headlight bulbs in less than five minutes, did not charge. This review is long overdue. I have been coming to Jamels shop for years. Ever since I have lived in Long Beach. I moved to Koreatown, but I will not trust my vehicles to anyone else. I gladly commute the 40-mile round trip for my pickup truck repairs. Like doctors, good honest ones are hard to find, especially those who take pride in their work. I was reluctant to give a good review because I didn't want him to get too busy, and I'd have to wait, but alas, I must be unselfish and share a great thing with the community. Keep up the good work, mon ami!

Edit. I don't take the best car of my early century truck. Thank goodness I have a mechanic that does. My 2001 Tacoma just passed 200,000 miles and I owe it all to Jamel and his team. Three years after my 1st review, I'm still completely satisfied with my neighborhood mechanic. Finding an inexpensive and honest mechanic is the holy grail of auto service . Well friends, call me Sir Galahad because I have found it. Advanced Auto has been around for a while, but now under new management, and the service is amazing. I was calling around to shop after shop looking for someone who could perform all the factory recommended routine maintenance on my wife's 2018 Corolla at a price we could afford. We decided on Advanced because they took the time to look up exactly what the factory recommendations were while on the phone and quoted me a great price. My wife and I dropped off the car and had lunch across the street at a great Mexican restaurant. By the time we finished lunch, our car was ready. Everything that needed to be checked was checked and everything that needed to be changed was changed. There was no hard sell for any extras or push for peripheral service. It was just honest work at a fair price. So when my 18 year old truck started smoking, I knew exactly where I was going to take it. It sounded and smelled like a seized pulley had stripped a belt. And Jamel, the owner of Advanced, confirmed my suspicion. It ended up being a bad AC compressor. Celine, Jamel's partner, called me to tell me the bad news, but she was forthright by telling me that the repair wasn't necessary. The truck would run fine without the AC compressor and its belt. I ran the numbers, and with a quote that was well less than the average cost of such repair and temperatures hovering around 90, I decided to get the work done. I'm so glad I found this place. Jamel and Celine are wonderful people and I am more than happy to give them my business for both routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

I’ve taken my 2019 Volvo XC90 to Jamel a few times now. He is honest and has very reasonable prices. No upselling - he looks at the car and what needs to be done and will do exactly that. Just took for the annual service and oil change and got my car back in about 3 hours. Jamel is European and has excellent knowledge of all makes of car. Very glad to have found a trustworthy and knowledgeable local mechanic, and happy to support a local small business.

Jamel and Celine run an amazing shop. They are honest, reasonable priced, and great people. Even though I moved, I still come back to Long Beach for their service and keen eye. They gave me great advice on good tires,… but also a friend of mine who was quoted 3000+ at other shops that Jamel diagnosed as something minor saving him a ton of money.

I woke up this morning and my headlight was cracked. I live up the street from Advanced Auto so I called and Jamel told me to come by. He ordered me a used headlight that works and looks perfect. The dealer wanted $900. Jamel only charged me $250. My car was ready in an hour 👍🏻😎 They have tons of parking in front and they're open everyday. I highly recommend Advanced Auto.
